Dear Friends
This newsletter is an update about the services I offer.
General Practice
I am still seeing patients in General Practice, phone 0800 WISBELL (0800 947 235).
If you would like homeopathic treatment from there, you can let me know at your consultation, and I can arrange to post you out a homeopathic remedy, or leave one in the Drop Box outside The Light House.
I am working there three days a week, either morning or afternoon, so you should be able to get an appointment to see me.
I have heard from some patients that they have been told I was retiring, and that another doctor was taking over my cases.
This is Not So, and you do not have to see another doctor, if you are ringing for an appointment with me.
If you have problems getting an appointment to see me, or if you are told that I am fully booked, please email me, and I will make a time to see you.
Similarly, if you are from out of town, you can email me, so that you can get an appointment when you are in Christchurch.
Since I have been working in General Practice I have been less flexible with appointments and messages, but you can still contact me directly if you wish.
On the other hand, if you email me with a clinical message or a prescription request, I will usually forward the email to the Practice, and action it there.
Please don’t be afraid to ask.
Moonlighting
I am also working a little in a low decile practice, where the problems and needs are very different, and that provides its own special challenges, which I enjoy.
There was a flood there a month ago, and I did the incident control for that, coordinating staff and services and tradesmen, even the Fire Brigade! I even got to see some patients later in the afternoon.
I said afterwards that it felt like conducting a complicated resuscitation. One of the doctors said yes, it was like a resuscitation for a building, which I knew all about!
We had a Foundation Standards presentation the day afterwards, and I thought it wasn’t going to look good, but in fact it everything was cleared up by then, and the carpet had even had a wash!
Homeopathy
Although I have been practising homeopathy for a long time now, I am still enthralled by it, and the potential it can offer. [DETAILS ...]
Every 5 years or so I have done some soul searching about whether it is a good system, and whether I should continue to use it, but I have always come back to it.
This year I have purchased and read a number of new textbooks, as well as going back to original sources.
Paradoxically, at The Light House, which is a Non Medical service, I feel I can have more flexibility in providing treatments for conditions such as injuries, depression, ADHD, and other conditions.
I am pleased that I am on the radar for some of the hospital consultants, and it is always good to have laboratory confirmation of the success of treatment.
I still would love to treat more patients in the hospital, with the permission of their clinicians, of course. I hope it helps that I am medically trained and specialist trained as well.
Christchurch Flower Essences
The Christchurch Flower Essences are available as Relief Essences, Blended Essences, Dose Bottles and Kits.
There is more on the webpage Christchurchfloweressences.com, and please like the Facebook page Christchurch Flower Essences
There are a lot of flower photos and explanatory videos on the webpage, and I always say you are welcome to explore the page, and lost yourself there.
The Light House
The Light House continues to develop, and is evolving as time goes on.
Please check out the website www.thelighthouse.co.nz, and like the Facebook page The New Light House.
I am offering sessions for Homeopathy and Flower Essences, and also for Healing using Reiki.
People are finding it easier to book by phone or by email, so I am using that rather than the online booking at this stage.
That allows me to be more flexible with booking times, to find a time that suits you.
(Although I may go back to online booking as well, at a later stage.)
Open Day
There will be an Open Day at The Light House on Sunday 25th June 2-4pm
Do come in and look around the Temple, and talk to me about Homeopathy and the Christchurch Flower Essences.
Or you can just come in and sit and listen to music.
You can also see the Unity Room, which is developing into a workshop are.
The address is 4 Redruth Avenue (off Selwyn Street).
Personal news
I have had a holiday in Auckland, and caught up with some childhood friends, and raided their photo albums.
I am still doing lots of study, with diplomas in shamanism, symbology, alchemy, energy anatomy, animal therapy, crystals, and sound and colour therapy. I don’t mean to boast, but so far I have had distinction in all of them!
I still have my pets Timmy the cat, and Trixie the dog, who many of you will remember from the Bealey Avenue days. Trixie has her own Facebook page! I am hoping to have their names on the diploma for Animal Assisted Therapy!
I am currently doing three recent meditation seminars by DaBen, who I have been following for 27 years so far. They are about bringing the awakened Light Body energies back into everyday life. I am certainly having a lot of ideas and plans opening up for The Light House, and somehow getting a new laptop is the key to being able to offer more services! It is like a total immersion experience at present, while I catch up on the seminars.
If you would like to go onto a waiting list to learn DaBen’s Awakening Your Light Body course, or any of Orin’s courses, please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Oh, and other courses by Andrew Harvey, who talks about mysticism and Sacred Activism, and Anrita Melchisedek. Anrita is teaching some of the Ancient Egyptian and Atlantean knowledge, which is a passion of mine, and I hope to learn much more. I have put more information on my Facebook page The Old Light House, which has links and information about spiritual growth. And on the Isisbell page, about Ancient Egypt.
But don’t let these aspects put you off – I can still function at a high level as a conventional doctor, and I do honour that aspect of my training.
I am still learning West African drumming, and am playing in the Christchurch Samba Band. You can come and see us at the Lyttelton Festival of Lights on Friday 23 June.
