The Beacon - November 2018

Dear Friends

This newsletter is about my services, and how I can help.

I sometimes find it hard to talk about my current interests, as they span such a broad range, but here is some more information.

Medicine

I am still rooted in medicine, and as you may know have undertaken specialist training, and done a course in Advanced Medicine at the Royal Post Graduate Medical School in London.

I really enjoy the medical tradition, and the way it has evolved from the great physicians of the past.

My speciality was Internal Medicine, with an option in Geriatrics.

Since I started my homeopathy practice in the community 30+ years ago I have combined both medicine and homeopathy, later doing my General Practice qualifications.

I’ve only really been working in general practice since the earthquakes, starting on the day I got my Gold Card (although that is a secret!).

I have worked part time in some widely different practices.

I enjoy the highly computerized nature of General Practice, and especially being able to do the best screening and medical care that I can for the patients.

If you would like to see me in General Practice, please ring me on my 0800 number 0800 WISBELL (0800 947 235).

Homeopathy

My main passion is still homeopathy sessions, and believe that this can be really helpful for people, and can be used for assisting treatment for serious illnesses, as well as for helping with general good health.

After more than here decades, I find that the more I use homeopathy, the more I see how it works well as an integrated system, and also realize that there is still so much to learn.

If you would like to see me for Homeopathy, please ring me on my 0800 number 0800 WISBELL (0800 947 235).

Flower Essences

For Flower Essences, I find myself mostly using the Christchurch Flower Essences, which I made, because I am so familiar with them, and relate so closely to them.

You can ask for Flower Essences at your homeopathy session.

Sound healing

It has been a long term dream of mine to do sound healing, but I have found myself already doing sessions for people.

Currently I am using recorded music, and crystal bowls and drums.
As things evolve, I will be adding toning, and more drumming, including medicine and Sufi and Egyptian drumming, and probably using my Om gong.

I have got my dibs on a loop machine, with the goal of layering individual sessions, and putting them onto a memory stick for the person to take home. But that will be later on.

I am offering sound healing sessions now for free (limited numbers), until I have more experience, and find I can easily move between the different modalities.

The Light House

The garden has been wonderful this Spring, and has been as productive as I had hoped it would be after several years.

In the front garden there are themes of magnolias, camellias and azaleas. There is a cottage garden element, and the bulbs and peonies have flourished, even after only having been planted a few months ago.
After the concrete cutting on the side, the Lilac border has been out in full bloom, again only a few months after planting.

The Temple Garden will have to wait another year, as that entails more concrete cutting and putting down paths, but I already have the arches and frames for the roses. And the white border is flourishing.

The first version of the Labyrinth is marked out now, and I be slowly working on that. It will be a three channel labyrinth, with an Eastern feel to it.

Bridging realms

It has been funny for me, that the more I go into spiritual things, and tune into what the seers are talking about, the more I have needed to balance it with the discipline of medicine. So I have worked simultaneously in drug research and homeopathy, have been back as a house surgeon in psychogeriatrics while I was actively into chanelling (since the earthquakes).

I have also recently done more thinking and writing about the medical ethics of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM).

I know this isn’t everyone’s path, but I think that somehow I have had to be a bridge between medicine and healing, as I am familiar with and trained in both.

(Sometimes I think I was always meant to be a healer, though, but medicine was the most accessible modality at the time.)

Changes in consciousness

Many people are talking about the big changes in consciousness that are occurring at present.

Some talk about this as a dimensional shift, about a shift to Christ consciousness, or the activation of the Divine Feminine. Others talk about activating the Merkaba or Light Body.

In the past few years I have followed many, many teachers, mostly from the States, but also from the UK, France, Belgium, South Africa and Australia.

I have occupied myself doing many webinars and online courses, and I think I have absorbed enough knowledge and understanding to be more discerning about the courses that are on offer.

From my point of view, there are some teachers whose work is pivotal, for where we stand at this moment in time, and others whose teachings can almost be a distraction from the work that needs to be done.
I identify with being a light worker and a starseed.

I would love to talk to you about this, and about your experiences.

Egyptian healing traditions

It is no secret that I am obsessed with Ancient Egypt. I had a lot of papyrus paintings in the Old Light House.
When I was setting up my current house, I wondered why none of those paintings featured in the new house. They ended up forming the centerpiece for my new clinic behind the house. I talk about this as being my temple to Isis, a room I use for meditation and contemplation. It serves as the waiting room for my (non medical) homeopathy service.

Meanwhile I have been increasingly interested in the healing and meditation practices of Ancient Egypt, and trying to piece the information together.

Recently a new course became available, a Diploma in Ancient Egyptian Magic (which I passed with distinction, as usual!). It provided a framework for me to explore more of the Ancient Egyptian thinking and processes, and since then I have delved into some of the more detailed reading material.

Now I am starting a course in Egyptian Shamanic Alchemy, which I hope will tie in my passions for Ancient Egypt, shamanism and alchemy. Shamanism has been touched on in some of my meditation training, and I have done some courses, but not been apprenticed to a master. It is the same with Alchemy, which has some overlaps with homeopathy, and indeed formed part of the origin of conventional medicine, when you look into it.

(The teacher of this course first went to Egypt with the Grateful Dead in 1978, and with my interest in drumming I have devoured the books by Mickey Hart, one of the drummers in that group.)

I’m not sure where this interest in Ancient Egypt is leading, and in a way it doesn’t really matter, but I think it will inform the sound healing that I am increasingly drawn to.
